Henry Hipps
Co-Founder / CEO
Henry Hipps is the Co-Founder & CEO of Diffusion Venture Studio. His work leverages investment capital, deep sector knowledge, and a focus on impact to support ventures at the leading edge of the future of learning and work. Most recently, he was Senior Advisor and Entrepreneur in Residence at Owl Ventures, the world’s leading education sector venture capital firm. As Deputy Director of the Education team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Henry and his team sat at the intersection of product innovation and system redesign to lead investments in EdTech, curriculum, tutoring, and other tools and school models. Previously, Henry was Senior Director at the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, a leading school turnaround organization, where he directed technology and other core operations. As Founder and CEO of Trajectory Learning, Henry delivered web-based K-12 courseware with culturally-relevant content designed to increase student engagement. Prior to his work in education, Henry was an executive at IBM Business Consulting where he led global teams on business and technology consulting engagements. Throughout his career, Henry has sought opportunities to use entrepreneurship and innovation as tools to create social impact.

Peter Bergman, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Texas at Austin; the Founder & Director of the social science research lab Learning Collider; Co-Chair of the Improving Education Outcomes in North America Initiative at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT; Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research; Innovation Fellow at Schmidt Futures; and Co-Founder / Chief Science Officer of Diffusion Venture Studio.
Peter’s research has been published in acclaimed journals including: Nature Human Behavior, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Labor Economics, and Education Finance and Policy.
